Story telling is an important part of pedagogy and students are impacted creatively by means of Story Telling Activity, especially the junior wing children. This not only enhances the intellectual capacities of students but also helps them with reading skills and inter-cultural understandings. Children’s story telling room at Dr. Virendra Swarup Education Centre, Kidwai Nagar, is designed to provide a lively and feel-good ambience, with vibrant wall colours and awesome bulletin boards that enhance the learning experience and student engagement and a cosy reading nook,offering children a delightful escape to a world of imagination and a unique learning experience.

The importance of fitness and meditation is best learned well at an early stage, thereby we at Dr. Virendra Swarup Education Centre, Kidwai Nagar, have included Yoga as a compulsory activity for all students, right from their early years. This has helped the students concentrate and focus on their performance better than before. Our students have left no stone unturned in emerging as winners at city, state and national level competitions.

Our school recognises the importance of Yoga in the holistic development of students. Therefore, our school has provided a spacious hall to accommodate an entire class of students and the hall serves as a serene and tranquil space, creating a harmonious atmosphere.Equipped with yoga mats this space is designed to facilitate various yoga postures and relaxation techniques.

Our dedicated Yoga instructor, possessing profound knowledge of various yoga asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation techniques along with a clear understanding of the principles and philosophy of Yoga, has played a pivotal role in fostering the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students.

Dr. Virendra Swarup Education Centre, Kidwai Nagar, boasts of numerous enthusiastic students actively participating in various dance events held regularly. The focus is on training in Indian dance forms, particularly classical and folk dances representing diverse states across the country. Additionally, students receive instruction in Break Dance, Zumba, Salsa, Free Style, Bollywood, and general Western dance styles.

We believe that by incorporating dance in activity classes, teachers can provide their students with the opportunity to explore their unique potential and gain valuable skills that will help them throughout their lives. Dedicated dance teachers, proficient in both Indian and Western dance forms, impart these styles. The Kidwai Nagar branch is equipped with two expansive dance halls to cater to the needs of these eager students.

Our students have time and again participated in numerous Interschool Competitions both at city and national level and won laurels for our school.

Music is given prime importance as part of the school curriculum. Dr. Virendra Swarup Education Centre, Kidwai Nagar, has a highly accomplished music staff and three well-equipped music rooms. All the music rooms are fully equipped with latest musical instruments such as Bongo/ Congo, Electric Guitar, Electric Drums, Tabla, Casio and others. Students have access to all the basic musical instruments. Instruments like the Harmonium, Sitar, etc., are easily accessible for the students. With three dedicated and spacious rooms, the music department is adequately equipped for teaching students both vocal and instrumental Indian classical music.

Both senior and junior students look forward to their music teachers who train them to sing the Indian ragas as well as Western Music Songs. Junior students have choir practices with a string of inspirational songs and rhymes, whereas seniors are trained for individual songs on a one-on-one basis. Our students perform during the school functions, both inside and outside our school. School assemblies have a mandatory display of inspirational and other songs. Our school children are most often awarded the best singers in a variety of inter-school song and music events.

Students are especially interested in pursuing their Art activity and look forward to this very interesting activity as it brings out the creative side in them. Students opting for this activity learn a wide range of creative arts such as collage making, drawing and painting. Moreover, they learn how to do Perspective Drawing, Basic Pencil Shading, Water Colour Painting and Doodling. Teaching Calligraphy to students as a cultivation of scholarly style helps enhance their mental and physical faculties. In addition to developing a good handwriting, it helps students with concentration and artistic expressions.

We at Dr. Virendra Swarup Education Centre,Kidwai Nagar, have made holistic learning possible by seamlessly integrating various academic concepts with Arts. It not only helps in creating joyful classrooms but also helps in imbibing the Indian ethos through integration of Indian Art and Culture in the learning process at every level.

Besides winning the Inter School Art Competition every year our students’ art work have also been selected for the prestigious ICS Calendar time and again thus bringing immense glory to our school.

Dr. Virendra Swaup Education Centre, Kidwai Nagar provides a designated and sufficiently spacious Craft Room furnished with worktables and chairs for the innovative endeavours of our students where they have fun with textiles crafting and love to make bags and foot-mats. Students also learn variety of craft work in school and participate in a variety of crafts that include paper, newspaper, wire and cloth related crafts work. Paper crafts include envelope making, and folder making, where students are at their best with coloured papers and scissors. Candle making activity is fun and it also helps teach kids about using soft products like wax. It is beautifully decorative and fun to be working in groups.

‘POP’ is used amply by students to create beautiful flowers as well as vases out of it. ‘MOULDIT’ is another resource used by the students to create artefacts and show-pieces. The most dazzling kind of artwork is the creation of jewellery pieces that the children are really keen to create. Other examples of Craftwork include needle work, wire sculpture and clay modelling.

The art of clay modelling is a crucial component of fostering a child's creativity, enhancing imagination, and instilling self-confidence. Recognizing its significance, our school has incorporated this activity from the Playgroup stage onward and features a spacious and specialized room for clay modelling, equipped with an elongated worktable that can accommodate multiple students simultaneously.

Beginning with the basics of shaping techniques, students delve into creating a diverse range of unique and impressive artworks such as roses, fruits, butterflies, scenic depictions, and underwater scenes. Engaging in this activity not only improves students' dexterity and fine motor skills but also encourages the development of problem-solving abilities as they experiment with various building techniques and adapt to changes along the way.

At Dr Virendra Swarup Education Centre, Kidwai Nagar, students actively participate in a multitude of clay modelling activities, including Inter Class and Inter Branch competitions. In these events, our students consistently showcase their outstanding artistic skills and boundless creativity.
